Join CPL in October in celebrating the history, traditions, culture and contributions of Poles and Polish Americans!
Our monthlong celebration kicks off with a keynote event featuring a quartet from the internationally acclaimed Lira Ensemble at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 2 at Sulzer Regional Library. This event will be a rousing, toe-tapping, sing-along for all ages!
The month continues with a wide variety of events, workshops and exhibits for everyone to enjoy.
Upcoming Events
- Craft workshops for making your own unique decorative mobiles, handmade cards, ornaments and Wycinanki designs.
- Music performances include the locally loved and much-celebrated Chicago polka band Eddie Korosa Jr. and the Boys from Illinois as well as an intimate concert featuring soloist Marlena Dzis and noted composer Jaroslaw Golembioski as they perform classical, jazz and art songs.
- A series of dynamic storytelling events exploring Polish culture and tales, featuring well-recognized professional storytellers Megan Wells, Lynne Clayton and Sue Black.
- Book discussions for adults and storytime and craft programs for kids.
