Join the celebration of African American History Month 2016! In February we’re bringing African American history, music and crafts to a CPL location near you.
Featuring film screenings and book clubs for adults, interactive events for teens, story times and hands-on activities for kids, and music and craft classes for the whole family, African American History Month is a celebration and a time for learning for all of Chicago.
The African American History Month opening program features talented young musicians Jeremiah and Isaiah Collier, from The Next Generation of Jazz Band, at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30 at Woodson Regional Library with a musical performance noting the importance of music throughout African American history.
